About the Committee
The Pennsylvania Municipalities Planning Code (MPC) empowers the Board of Supervisors to create a Planning Commission comprised of residents from the Township. The Planning Commission in Findlay Township is a 7 member board that was created in 1953. Members serve appointed 4 year terms and each year the Commission is appointed a solicitor by the Supervisors to provide legal advice on matters relating to the MPC.
Responsibilities
The Planning Commission is responsible for preparation of the Comprehensive Plan for the Township, maintaining records of all meetings, making recommendations to the Board of Supervisors regarding the official map, preparing and recommending a zoning ordinance and Subdivision & Land Development Ordinance, reviewing and offering recommendations concerning development proposals of public, civic and private agencies.
