WASTE MANAGEMENT GETS CONTRACT FOR TRASH/RECYCLING …. Starting April 1, 2014, our Contract for Trash/Recycling has been awarded to Waste Management of Pennsylvania, Inc. They were the successful low bidder for our contract that covers April 1, 2014 to March 31, 2018. Most importantly, our collection day will be changing at that time to THURSDAYS rather than a Friday. From an economic standpoint, our rates will be going down and are scheduled as follows: (Our Existing Rate for curbside collection is $13.88 per month)
NEW RATES: April 1, 2014 to March 31, 2015 - $13.34 per month April 1, 2015 to March 31, 2016 - $13.61 per month April 1, 2016 to March 31, 2017 - $13.88 per month April 1, 2017 to March 31, 2018 - $14.16 per month
CommunityTire Recycling Collection
Do you have old tires that you need to get rid of?? Well here is your chance to do so. The Independence Conservancy, in conjunction with Findlay Township will be holding its annual tire collection. Last year's effort collected over 400 tires from residents and non-residents. This non-profit foundation has been restoring and protecting our local land and water since 1999. All of the tires are sheared, and rims are hauled away for recycling.
Donations for Tire Disposal: $2 per passenger car or light truck tire rim size: 12", 13", 14", 15", 16", 16.5" & 17" Additional $2 for any of the above that are on a rim. $20 per tractor trailer - 19" - 22" - NO RIMS $20 per farm tractor rear tire - NO RIMS

OIL AND GAS DEVELOPMENT PLANS PUBLIC HEARING FOR THE CONSOL DRILLING APPLICATIONS AT P.I.A. A Public Hearing was held on February 20, 2014 for review of the two (2) applications filed by Consol Energy (CNX) for gas drilling operations at the Pittsburgh International Airport property.

The ENVIRONMENTAL ASSESSMENT documents have been received by Findlay Township (received on 2/21/14). They are available to view during normal business hours, 8:00 a.m.-4:30 p.m. at 1271 Route 30, Clinton, PA 15026.
At the present time, the Public Hearing for the CONSOL DRILLING APPLICATIONS AT P.I.A was closed at the March 12, 2014 Board of Supervisors Regular Meeting. A decision will be rendered within 45 days.
The meeting of the Board of Supervisors for a final decision on the Conditional Use Permits for CONSOL (CNX) Gas Drilling at P.I.A. is set for Wednesday, April 23, 2014 at 7:00 p.m. at the Findlay Township Activity Center, 310 Main Street, Imperial. The Public is invited to attend.
