FINDLAY TOWNSHIP K-9 OFFICER, AXEL
- END OF WATCH  05/27/16

It is with great sadness that we report the passing of our K-9 Officer Axel, on Friday, May 27, 2016. Serving our Township and assisting others for 10 years, Axel loved nothing better than going to work with his partner Officer Neil Cridge, interacting with kids at Wilson School and in the parks and of course, any time Neil would throw a ball! In his position as a K-9 Officer, Axel put his extensive training to use by tracking suspects, sniffing out contraband, searching for the lost, and as ambassador for Findlay Township. Unfortunately, Axel’s health has been declining for the past several weeks. Early on Friday morning, he passed peacefully, held by Officer Cridge and surrounded by his family. Rest in Peace Axel, your dedication and our memories will continue to be immeasurable. Officer Cridge wished to express his gratitude to all of you for the tremendous show of support over the years.

"(their) legacy is to remind us all that bravery and devotion can travel on four legs, and that loyalty and love can be delivered by the playful nudge of a wet nose." As quoted by Canton Mayor Thomas Bernabei upon the passing of their K-9 Officer
